Nginx configuration
Basic Nginx configuration in fedora
Nginx (pronounced EngineX) is a lightweight web server which is gaining in popularity. To install it in fedora, follow these steps:
- as root: yum install nginx
- shut down apache: service httpd stop
- edit the nginx.conf file in /etc/nginx - all you need to do is set it to listen at port 80 and give the server name as localhost
- run: service nginx start
Sample nginx.conf file:
user nginx;
worker_processes 1;
error_log /var/log/nginx/error.log;
pid /var/run/nginx.pid;
