NRC-FOSS

Nginx (pronounced EngineX) is a lightweight web server which is gaining in popularity. To install it in fedora, follow these steps:

• as root: yum install nginx
• shut down apache: service httpd stop
• edit the nginx.conf file in /etc/nginx - all you need to do is set it to listen at port 80 and give the server name as localhost
• run: service nginx start

Sample nginx.conf file:
